PhD Candidate and Design Researcher
As a design-researcher I am always on the lookout for innovative ways to enable people to live healthier, happier lifestyles.
I am currently working on ThinkActive, a PhD mission to uncover opportunities for new services that will enable people with mild dementia and mild cognitive impairment to maintain physically active lifestyles.
I graduated from Loughborough University in 2001, with a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Design and Technology. Subsequently I worked as a designer and researcher at DeMontfort University and then Northumbria University. In both these roles, my design and research work helped small-medium enterprises to realise their innovation goals. The majority of my professional work has been on healthcare design projects, a field of design I find particularly challenging and rewarding to work in.
My research interests are in healthcare design research, healthcare service design and the design of products and services to support the management of chronic disease.
