Exercise and age related muscle loss
Understand the effects of exercise on muscle in older people.
Maintaining muscle mass and function through life is important in achieve adequate metabolic control and the ability to undertaketasks of our everyday lives. This study will look at how 16weeks of exercise influences muscle (molecular signaling and function). Thisstudy will use muscle biopsies, electrophysiology, exercise testing and metabolic studies to understand if exercise can increase musclefunction in older people.
This study will provide important information about whether exercise holds the potential to reverse or impede age related muscle loss.
