Aim:

Understand the effects of physical activity on the cardiac ageing phenotype.

Research Overview:

Maintaining good cardiac function is one of the most important aspects of lifelong health and wellbeing. This study will look athow physical activity influences cardiac function across our lives.This study will use magnetic resonance techniques, exercise testingand metabolic studies to understand if a sedentary lifestyle accelerates the cardiac ageing phenotype.

Research Importance:

This study will look at the effects of low levels of physical activity upon cardiac function, a key determinant of lifelong health and wellbeing.
